Kitty Hawk III

His love for Great Lakes fishing began in Port Austin in 1995; he then commuted from his home in Detroit onboard previous "Kitty Hawks" that he maintained in Manistee, Ludington and Oscoda, relocating to the Presque Isle area in 2002.

Having served in the US Marine Corps Reserve, he is also a private pilot & former professional musician.

Earning his USCG Merchant Marine Certificate in 2022, now enjoys sharing his passion for the Great Lakes.

Jared "J-rod the fish God"  is an Alpena native. As well as serving his second season aboard the Kitty Hawk III, he is also an avid in-land angler.  Jared is trained in CPR, first-aid and the use of Automatic Defibrillators.  Comfortably working the fishing deck, he additionally keeps a sharp eye while at the helm. Jared is a decorated US Marine veteran who served several tours in Iraq including the infamous Battle for Fallujah. We are proud to have him aboard... Semper-Fi!

First Mate David "Rod Breaker!" Aside from serving on the Kitty Hawk III crew, he is a Sailing Instructor for the Alpena Youth Sailing program and currently attending Alpena HIgh School with his sights on becoming a Charter Captain & Marine Biologist. He is trained in CPR and the use of AED's, a key member of the team while working the net, maintaining watch and assisting with routine maintance. David has also mated aboard previous "Kitty Hawks".
